Quandle Labs · Computational medicine
Quandle Labs makes research software for protein science and operating software for hospitals. The same discipline runs through both: model the system properly, then show every step of the reasoning behind a result.
How we build
Each recommendation lists the records it read, the rules it applied and what argues against it. The person accountable can check it before they act.
Bookings, beds, rosters, theatre lists, supplies and outcomes data are joined into a single model. A change in one place reaches every view it affects.
Every product runs in the browser. No local software for researchers, no HPC queue, no scripting. Hospital products connect to the systems already in place.
Products
Choppr stands on its own for protein research. MDSim360, MAE, Mel and DEWS form the Quandle Platform, built on a shared model of the patient and the hospital.
Research · Bioinformatics
A new way to analyse proteins.
Choppr chains established tools into workflows and passes the output of one step straight into the next. Test an idea in minutes instead of weeks, without writing code, downloading databases or buying GPUs.
The Quandle Platform
Each product reads from the same model. Records, rosters, theatre lists, rooms and supplies are reconciled once, so MAE, Mel and DEWS work from the same facts and their recommendations never contradict each other.
Platform · Nursing operations
Nurse Command for day-case units and wards.
MAE holds the whole unit on one screen: every patient on the line from arrival to discharge, every bed at the hour you choose, every nurse's caseload and skills. When something will not fit, it says why and offers the moves that would.
Platform · Hospital operations
Theatres, workforce and market, in one system.
Mel runs the operating theatres of one hospital or a whole network, plans the people who staff them, and shows where the hospital stands in its market. Three modules, one model underneath.
Mel watches every list against case pace and surgeon history, forecasts late starts and overruns, and proposes the move that costs least.
Rosters for surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses, planned against forecast case volume and matched to the skills each case needs.
UK private hospital market analysis at procedure and hospital level. Built on PHIN-published data joined to clinical coding: volume, share, day-case rate, length of stay and fees.
Platform · Molecular dynamics
Dependable MD simulation, online.
Upload a PDB file or CHARMM-GUI output and MDSim360 runs production-grade GROMACS: topology, solvation, ionisation, minimisation, equilibration and production MD. Most first runs start within ten minutes of upload. No installation, no HPC queue, no topology debugging.
Solution · Early warning and remote monitoring
Illustrative trajectory
A proprietary predictive score that forecasts deterioration two to 48 hours ahead.
Early warning scores read a snapshot and react once a threshold is crossed. DEWS reads the trajectory of a patient's vital signs, projects it forward with its uncertainty, and tells the team how long they have to act. The readings come from its own remote monitoring system, on the ward and at home.
Every vital sign. One sensor.
One wearable from pre-assessment to home. No leads, no bedside monitor, no manual rounds of observations.
Automatic readings on the schedule the care plan sets, sent straight into the score alongside DEWS One.
The first DEWS One units go to clinical partners.
DEWS One is fitted at pre-assessment, so the score learns the patient's own baseline before the operation.
Continuous readings through the post-operative stay, the cuff on schedule, and alerts that carry the time to threshold.
Both devices go home with the patient. Same score, same care team, for as long as the pathway needs.
Company
We build computational tools for life sciences and healthcare: research software that removes the setup between a scientist and a result, and hospital software that turns a day's moving parts into decisions people can check.
